DIY :: A fabric necklace inspired by Frida Khalo

DIY :: Un collier en tissus inspiré de Frida Khalo

Frida Khalo, you know ?

This Mexican painter, famous for her self-portraits, became known to the general public thanks to the film which bears the same name as her (She was played by Salma Hayek).

Why am I telling you about her? Because she (unwittingly) launched a fad that we thought was fleeting but which is taking hold: the big flowers in the hair.

We have to admit that executed as she did, it's really beautiful (even if I can hardly see myself doing the same thing ...)

However, it’s not always easy to wear and / or take on. However, we can be inspired by creating large colored necklaces with a little fabric.

Here are some examples found on the internet (I don't know where unfortunately.)

To achieve them, it doesn't sound too complicated, you just have to be patient and try to master the yoyo technique. Quéssesa? No, I'm not talking about toy from our childhood, nor of our tendency to gain and lose too much weight, I am talking about this sewing technique that allows you to make flowers.

Here's how to do it step by step. It's in English, but the pictures speak for themselves (and don't we say a picture is worth 1,000 words!)

Have a good DIY!
